Grizzly Bear are a Brooklyn indie band who have a truly distinctive sound. Its a mixture of electronica, acoustic guitars and beautiful vocal harmonies. The closet analogy that springs to mind is contemporary Doo wop. They are resoundingly hypnotic,a super indie band.

There current discography/collaborations to date include the very atmospheric TV on the Radio, Feist and Beirut. I am in complete anticipation of there third release in May 09 called Veckatimest on Warp records. You must check :)

It's not likely I will be under a sail on my private yacht this summer (although you never know though ?!) However I still love these Sperry deck shoes. It's so aesthetically pleasing to see the distinctive colours born out of salt washing canvas.

VisVim 001 Suede Plimsoles

ViSVIM logan deck low originally released as part of their Spring/Summer 2008 range. A luxury deck shoe at its best fully leather lined with premium suede uppers.

Simplistic, Pared Down, Classic Infinity* - White Plimsole

It's definitely a staple menswear piece. Accessible, inexpensive and easy to buy into especially in this economic climate. I have an inordinate number of crisp white to dirty white plimsoles, the main reason for this is I don't like throwing them out (yeeesh!!)

Official Preppy Handbook Tear - Footwear Typologies

This is a really cool tear from an old preppy handbook,it outlines a definitive list of essential footwear to remain dapper at all times.

 Also very interesting from a generational/cultural perspective,different footwear for different perceived end use.Does this train of thought still exist or is this multiple footwear usage reserved for Fashionistas/Footwear Fiends ?
